Why Buy an Edwardian Conservatory?

01 August 2013

If you haven't decided what type of conservatory you would like, there's a lot to be said for choosing our Edwardian style conservatory kit, which has a number of advantages over the Victorian style alternative.

Space

The Edwardian design makes the most efficient use of the available space, as it doesn't have the chamfered front of the Victorian conservatory. The plan of these conservatories is rectangular in design, preventing the loss of space at the corners that occurs when fitting a 'bay front'. In addition to the maximisation of actual space, the illusion of additional space is created by the pitched roof, fitted with plain glass, which raises the ceiling and allows in more natural light.

Assembly

Those who elect to assemble their own conservatories are likely to find the Edwardian style a lot easier to work with. The simple footprint of the structure not only makes its construction more straightforward, removing the necessity for cutting the brickwork of the base to the angles of the facets, but will also make the addition of French doors a lot easier to carry out.

With it's elegant but unfussy design and ease of construction, the Edwardian conservatory is likely to remain a very popular choice, particularly for DIYers.
