Centurion DIY Conservatory Kits
11 October 2011When you order a DIY Conservatory Kit, you want to be sure that you have everything prepared for the job ahead. In this blog post we give you an overview of what to expect when your DIY Conservatory is delivered.
Centurion DIY Conservatory kits will come with the following –
- PVCu Conservatory frame
- Conservatory roof
- Windows and doors (glazing) – this is supplied as 28mm toughened safety glass sealed units
- External cills - supplied mitred on the ends, ready for sealing with angled corner joiners
- Masonry fixings
- Self tapping screws to join frames where needed
- Couplers to connect frames in the corners – depending on which conservatory you order these will either be round poles, triangular kite mullions or square posts
- Coupling strip used to hide any joints between frames
- Glazing packers to assist in aligning the glazing
- Rainwater goods – guttering and down pipes
- Installation kit with mastics
On delivery, you will also receive full installation guides which include one for the conservatory roof and one for the conservatory frames.
In addition, you will need suitable flashing to seal the roof of your conservatory to the wall of your house. Lead flashing will give you a longer lasting result but if speed is off the essence, then you can use a sticky bitumen flash band. You can also purchase at an additional cost, internal PVCu window boards if they are required. Window boards provide an indoor cill which you can use to add a little style to your conservatory windows, as well as somewhere to place ornaments, photo frames, lamps and vases.
You are now ready to build your very own Do-It-Yourself conservatory.
